🎄 Donations 🎄
Each holiday celebration hosted by Tree of Knowledge Coven includes a donation drive for the community. For the Solstice, we invite everyone to help decorate UUCCI's mitten tree with warm items for adults such as scarves, hats, gloves, etc. Donations will be delivered to Turning Point after New Years Day.
❄️ Things to Bring ❄️
- A dish to share
- A lantern for the lantern walk (or we will have tealights available)
- Decorations or items to bless on the altar
- Wear something warm if you would like to be outside
- Warm clothing items to donate for adults: scarves, hats, mittens, warm, socks, coats
6-7 PM: PITCH IN DINNER AND CRAFTS
Settle in and enjoy the feast! We will have craft stations set up in the Maker Space room to make DIY ornament crafts: Orange slices with sprigs of herbs and snowflakes with a Solstice blessing.
7-8 PM: BATTLE OF THE OAK & HOLLY KING FOLLOWED BY RITUAL
Our youngest guests will perform a play for the adults: The Battle of the Oak King and Holly King (which was a huge hit last year!). After the play, children will be invited to make lanterns for the lantern walk while the ritual takes place in the sanctuary. All ages are welcome, and child care will be available for kids that do not want to join the ritual. Our Solstice ritual will focus on the importance of community and support for others during the dark months. After the ritual we will "carry our light into the world" with a lantern walk to the fire pit (weather permitting). We will finish the night with light, warm drinks, and carols around the fire.
All Ages Welcome!
